Klum (Calum McCorkell) is a 21 year old electronic musician/producer from Northern Ireland. Having always been passionate about music, Calum first started playing guitar at age 13 in a band called Sixth Day. Klum has been writing his own songs ever since, while also learning the bass guitar and drums. Playing in different bands for the next four years, at age 17 Klum started regularly playing bass guitar in the punk band Spine, participating in a number of small gigs in Belfast’s vibrant music scene.

These experiences culminated in a decision to pursue music as a career. During 2011-13 Klum studied Music Technology at Belfast Met (he was one of eighteen accepted from 120 applicants). This inspired Klum’s appreciation for electronic music. Consequently he began composing his own music in this genre, influenced by artists like Wren, Aphex Twin, Joy Division, Deadmau5 and Massive Attack.

2013 marked an important year of achievements. Alongside Alistair Spence and Jordan Watson, Klum took his electronic music to the stage in March, competing in the NI Music Skills (Live Electronics category). They took 2nd place with a score of 72%. M.Con soon followed, for which Klum ran a Home Recording workshop with Eoin Kearns.

In May 2013, Klum self released and promoted the album Timeline with the group AEVUS. This album release raised over £300 for F.I.D.A. He also released a hip-hop EP, 'No More Grey Days', with Keba Grimm that August.

However the biggest progression for Klum’s musical career in 2013 was an unconditional offer to study Music Production at BIMM Bristol. This has led to Klum continuing to pursue his musical ambitions into the year 2014, playing his first solo electronic gig at Thekla in March, as well as a gig at The Mother’s Ruin on 22nd May.

Klum currently plays guitar and shared lead vocals in LupenTooth, a Horrorpunk band based in Bristol. In addition to these endeavours, he has continued to produce various other artists at J&J Studios in Bristol. Klum will release his debut solo album in Summer 2014.
