This weekend sees the return of one of the country's oldest and best loved rock music festivals - Reading Festival, and its sister event Leeds Festival. Having originated in the early 1960s, Reading Festival truly found its feet in the 1990s and has since become something of a rite of passage for teens immeditely following the release of GCSE results at the end of August. There have been some unforgettable performances over the years, but here are a few of our favourites...

There are as many different kinds of bass player on Meet & Jam as there are out there in the real world. In popular cliché, the bassist is the strong, silent type. Just think of good ol' Bill Wyman, who propped up the rhythm section of the Rolling Stones for three decades, happy to stand unobtrusively at the side of the stage, thrumming his bass while Mick and Keef strutted and pouted in front of him. Then there was Motown icon James Jamerson, responsible for (among much else), the shuddering bass lines on 'Heard it through the Grapevine' and 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough'. Or Tina Weymouth, stuck at the side while David Byrne showboated through the Talking Heads' sets.
Meet & Jam provides rehearsal and recording studios with custom-built booking and calendar software and the flexibility to use it in a way that suits the studio. Fill your unfilled space, manage your telephone and online bookings in one place and market your studio to thousands of brilliant musicians.
